Paul Schmidinger started as an associate at KWR in 2007 in Georg Karasek's team. He has therefore been intensively involved in construction and real estate law issues for more than 15 years. In doing so, he benefited in particular from the very close cooperation with Georg Karasek and his extensive and long-standing experience in this field. His involvement in major projects, such as the Skylink construction project and the construction of the new campus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, also enabled Paul Schmidinger to quickly build up a very comprehensive and broad range of experience in construction and real estate law.
After passing the bar exam with distinction, Paul Schmidinger was hired as a lawyer at KWR in 2010. Paul Schmidinger then expanded his consulting focus to include real estate law issues. In 2013, he was appointed partner and took over the management of KWR's real estate team.
Since then, his advisory focus has been, on the one hand, on real estate law, with a particular focus on assisting institutional investors, conducting legal due diligence reviews, and executing real estate transactions, and, on the other hand, on construction law. In this area, Paul Schmidinger has specialized, inter alia, in project-related advice to clients in the public sector and has since been able to provide legal support for a number of well-known major projects. Paul Schmidinger has particular expertise in the drafting and negotiation of construction and consultancy contracts, as well as in providing legal advice during construction and in dealing with warranty and damages issues in the construction sector.
In addition to providing legal advice, Paul Schmidinger is also a regular lecturer on construction and real estate law issues.
Prior to joining KWR, Paul Schmidinger worked as a legal advisor in the Office of the Secretary of State for the Arts and Media between 2003 and 2006, which is also the origin of his interest in copyright issues.
