Hafize Stöhr takes over as Head of Sustainability at KWR

Since January, Dr. Hafize Stöhr (35), attorney-at-law and KWR junior partner, has been at the helm of the Sustainability department at KWR.

Since January, Dr. Hafize Stöhr (35), attorney-at-law and KWR junior partner, has been at the helm of the Sustainability department at KWR. Her focus is on legal support for renewable energy projects and advice in connection with sustainable real estate, with a focus on energy, contract, construction and real estate law, as well as representation before the civil courts.

With the establishment of the new Sustainability department, KWR is seeking to stay abreast of current developments in the legal industry and meet increasing demand from clients, deliberately making this a focal point the future.

 "With Hafize Stöhr, we have found a proven expert in the development of this new practice area, someone who has extensive expertise, so we are very pleased to have her on board. We want to meet our clients' needs in this important area as well, and we are now in a better position to do that," said KWR Managing Partner Thomas Frad.

"The terms sustainability and ESG have also found their way into the legal industry and we have observed that our clients' needs in this regard have grown. In many areas, specifications have changed and new requirements have to be taken into account; after all, sustainability will become even more important in the coming years. This is why it is very important to us at KWR to adapt our range of services accordingly and to respond to this development," explains KWR partner Katharina Trettnak-Hahnl.

About the new junior partner:
From 2009 to 2014, Hafize Stöhr was a university assistant at the Department of Roman Law and Ancient Legal History at the University of Vienna; subsequently, she completed her court internship in the circuit of the Vienna Higher Regional Court, i.e. at the District Court of Liesing and the Regional Court for Criminal Matters of Vienna, and at the Regional Court of Wiener Neustadt. In 2017, she started working for a business law firm in Vienna as a candidate attorney, gathering her first experience in the fields of landlord and tenant law as well as property developer contract law. After passing her bar exam with distinction in 2020, she specialised in construction and real estate law as well as energy law while working for a renowned real estate law firm, and subsequently a well-​known environmental law firm in Vienna, as an associate. Before joining KWR as an attorney-at-law, Hafize Stöhr worked as an independent attorney in cooperation with a Vienna law firm in 2022.
