Since December, attorney-at-law and junior partner Dr Beatrice Blümel, LL.M. (IT-Law) (33) has been the head of the New Technologies & Digitalisation department at KWR. Her focuses are on IT law as well as software, e-commerce and data protection laws. Having completed the postgraduate university course in Information and Media Law and as a former employee of the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Beatrice Blümel not only has the required legal expertise but also valuable insights into the practice of public authorities as well as sound technical know-how. She thus offers our clients tailor-made support and advice.
"I am delighted that we have been able to attract enormous technical know-how to our technology practice by bringing in Beatrice Blümel - an extremely competent expert. It is our goal to continue establishing KWR in the market in this area as well, and to expand our practice so we keep meeting the needs of our clients," said KWR Managing Partner Thomas Frad.
"In our consulting practice, we can see digital transformation affecting every company. Thus, we advise our clients from all industries in complex digitalisation and transformation projects. No matter if it’s the use of blockchain technology and NFTs, the emergence of new digital spaces such as Metaverse, the new EU regulations for digital services, social media and other platforms, i.e. the "Digital Services Act" and "Digital Markets Act" – comprehensive advice and the successful implementation of such projects require specialised legal and technical know-how, which we are now reinforcing in-house with Beatrice Blümel", KWR partner Barbara Kuchar explains.
"I am delighted that KWR's ambitious agenda in the areas of new technologies and digitalisation will enable me to make full use of my previous experience and training in advising our clients," says Beatrice Blümel.
